The Thimble Guild was founded in the world heritage village of New
Lanark in 1983 and in 1985 moved to its current location in the historic
town of Biggar, south west of Edinburgh in Scotland's beautiful Border
country. Here, our resident thimble artists create exclusive designs
just for you, while dedicated staff compile a monthly mail-order
brochure of great buys. What's more, our headquarters are home to the
Thimble Guild Museum, housing an impressive collection of over 7000
thimbles, including a sample of every thimble sold over the years plus
contributions from visitors and suppliers. The Museum is open Monday to
Friday (and Saturdays by arrangement) from 09.30 to 16.30 hrs and
